BUTTERFLIES & DINOSAURS
We took Baby Bear to the Natural History Museum to visit the Butterfly Pavilion and Dinosaur exhibit a few weekends ago and had the BEST time. Baby Bear LOVED the Butterfly Pavilion but wasn't nearly as impressed with the Dinosaur exhibit.
We started our day at Olvera St. which is AH-MAZING but sadly I forgot to take pictures. Sorry! I was just so happy and overwhelmed to be amongst my gente that it completely slipped my mind. It was sorta interesting because my little girl - who is 3/4's Mexican - was a little tripped out by all the Mexican culture and how "Mexi" her mommy was being. I was walking around saying things like "Viva la Raza cabrones!" and "Chipotle y Lemon amigos!" When we stopped to have lunch I ordered my very favorite Mexican soup, Menudo. Baby Bear inquisitively said "Mommy what is that?" to which I nonchalantly answered "Oh, it's hominy and stomach lining Lovebug. Wanna taste it?" In case you hadn't realized it, yes I'm that Mexican and I love it.

Here's Baby Bear asking her daddy how it's possible that 15 people can fit into one car. I gotta enroll her in Mexican school soon! She's got soooooo much to learn...
Baby Bear is wearing a dress from Zara (that I got on sale for $17.99!), Zara Sandals, and her hippie John Lennon sunglasses.
Hubbylicious rocking his argyle socks and Clae burlap high tops...
I'm wearing an embroidered cover-up that I got at Anthropologie ages ago, Gypsy silk tie-dyed Maxi dress, Prada Sunnies, Rag & Bone flatforms, and a Banana Republic Hat. It was a super hot day but you know how I do it...arm hider fo' life son!

Love it! My kids are full on hispanic (Mexian/Cuban) and act like the whitest kids I know!!! I myself know not a lick of Spanish (im 4th generation) so i guess it’s only normal for each generation to be less and less influenced by their culture. Kind of sad, cause I’m really proud of my Mexican heritage, Viva La Raza!!!! (I heard that before, had to look up on google to make sure I was using in the right context).
It’s so weird right? I remember my dad use to say the same thing about me. He’s rolling over in his grave right now thinking about his “white girl” granddaughter! LOL!
Cute! Who took the butterfly pictures!?!
Guess…
